The Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa is the body constituted by the
Advocates Act 1961 for the State of Maharashtra and State of Goa.
In pursuance of the Advocates Act, each State has a Bar Council as
Statutory Body. Section 3, sub-section (i) (ccc) provides for
establishment of Bar Council for the State of Maharashtra and Goa and the
Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu to be known
as the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
